Volunteer

The Depot Artspace is fortunate to have some wonderful volunteers who help us with tasks as diverse as gallery minding, helping at openings, help with gallery mailouts and admin.

We always keen to add to our list of volunteers so please do contact us if you are interested in hearing more.  Volunteering at the Depot is a good way to get to know your community and be involved in the arts.

volunteernow.org.nz says, Whatever role, however often, health and happiness are the results of volunteering. Volunteers are social entrepreneurs; they are agents for change. They are vital if we are to maintain and develop a sustainable community life.

Volunteering gives you an opportunity to:
Give others the benefit of your life experience
Use your skills somewhere you are interested in
Learn new skills and gain experience
Meet new people
Connect to your community
Add colour to your life
Brighten your day
Have Fun!

A volunteer is someone who works for a community or for the benefit of environment primarily because they choose to do so. The word comes from Latin, and can be translated as "will" (as in doing something out of ones own free will).
